Why I Fell in Love with Islam and Chose to Convert
The Big Ideas that Made A Difference for me then and now as a 30+Year Convert to Islam
Greetings of Peace dear Friends,
As we enter these blessed last ten days of Ramadan, I pray that you are finding strength, comfort and renewal in these dark times for the world. As so much is falling apart before our eyes between the renewed escalation of the genocide in Palestine and the rapid slide towards authoritarianism in America, I reflect on what my decision to convert to Islam meant to me 30+ years ago, and what it means to me now.
In this video, I share the big ideas that were important to me when I began my faith journey decades ago, and how prescient, enduring and even more relevant they are in this moment. Without the blessing of faith and the moral anchor of beautiful, virtuous Islam, the encroaching tides of chaos, uncertainty and darkness would be absolutely unbearable.
I share my thoughts and beliefs in hopes that they may be helpful, especially to anyone who may be struggling. I pray that they may be a source of comfort, reminder, and reconnection as we fortify ourselves for the challenges ahead.
I wish you and your loved ones much love, light, and spiritual nourishment as we savor the remaining elevated days of this most sacred month. May the Ramadan energy and spirit remain with us all, long after the month’s end.
In Peace and Hope,
Grace
